Undergraduate students can pursue a B.S. in Accounting, a B.S. in Addictions Counseling, a B.S. in Anthropology, or a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences. About The University of Houston-Clear Lake

The University of Houston Clear-Lake was first established in 1971 after Texas legislators realized there was a high demand for higher education learning in the Clear Lake area. By 1968, the group which is now known as the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approved the plans for a new campus. In 1973, permanent plans for an institution were put into place. Construction officially began in 1974. While the site was being built, 1,069 students along with 60 faculty members started classes at an off-site location.

Today, The University of Houston-Clear Lake has partnerships with the city of Pearland. Students can obtain both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland campus. Classes first began at this location in 2010. By 2014, the University of Houston Clear-Lake Pearland Campus welcomed a new group of first-year students.

Ever since it was established the University of Houston Clear-Lake has always been empowered to assist students of all ages to pursue their academic goals. The faculty and staff members are committed to helping each student achieve success. For a while, The University of Houston Clear-Lake only offered bachelor’s and master’s degrees to its students. In 2007 the doctoral program was established. Students were then able to pursue their Ph.D. in Education as well as their Ph.D. in Educational Leadership.

The University of Houston Clear-Lake has a short history, but it has still accomplished a lot in its time of existence. The university has developed strong partnerships with businesses, other schools, individual people, and a wide variety of different organizations. The University of Houston-Clear Lake Application Requirements

Incoming first-year students should prepare an online application. Students should pay the $45 application fee, send an official high school transcript, and satisfactory SAT or ACT scores. Students who have completed college coursework should send documentation of it along with their application.

Incoming graduate students should also create an online application. For graduate students, the application fee is $45. Graduates should send in official transcripts that show proof of a baccalaureate degree as well as satisfactory GMAT, GRE or MAT scores. Certain programs may require different supplemental documentation such as a personal statement, a resume, and letters of recommendation.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Undergraduate students who are residents of the State of Texas and live with their parents will pay a tuition of $22,528. Students who are residents of the state and live off-campus will pay a tuition of $27,637. For residents who live on campus, tuition will be $28,599.

Non-residents who live with parents will pay a tuition of $39,112. Non-resident students living off-campus will pay a tuition of $44,221. For non-resident students residing on-campus, tuition will be $45,183.

These tuition rates include the cost of books and supplies, room and board, transportation, and miscellaneous fees.

Graduate students who are residents of the state of Texas and live with parents will pay a tuition of $24,354. Students who are residents of the state and live off-campus will pay $29,463. For those who are residents of the state living on-campus, tuition will be $30,425.

Non-resident students living with parents will pay $34,694. Graduate students who are non-residents of the state and live off-campus will pay $39,803. Non-residents living on campus will pay $40,765.

A student seeking financial aid can apply for it by creating a FAFSA account. Students can receive aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs. Roughly 59% of undergraduate students that are incoming to the University of Houston Clear-Lake receive financial aid in the form of scholarships with average awards being $14,972.
