About Regis University

Regis University was founded by the Jesuits in 1877 and is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Located in Denver, Colorado, the school was once known as the College of the Sacred Heart and experienced a name change in 1921 when it became Regis College. The school’s official colors are blue and gold, and the urban campus in Denver covers around 90 acres.

Students who participate in sports do so in NCAA Division II games in the Rocky Mountain Conference, and the teams are nicknamed the Rangers. The school’s mascot is known as Regi the Ranger. Around 11,000 students attend the university with approximately 1,900 academic staff providing instruction. The university has official partnerships with the Jesuit University of Guadalajara, Mexico and the National University of Ireland in Galway. The Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu have both been invited as guest speakers to the university.

Regis University Accreditation Details

Regis University gets its regional accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission, and the university is also accredited by a variety of other educational accreditation organizations for its programs, schools, and departments. Accreditations include those from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, the Accreditation Board for Applied Science, Computing, Engineering, and Technology, and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.

Additional accreditations come from the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs, the American Chemical Society Commission of Professional Training, and the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Further accreditations have been granted by the Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education and the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

Regis University Application Requirements

Students who want to apply to Regis University will apply online by one of the four application deadlines in the Fall or the two deadlines in the Spring. Officially, the school has a rolling admissions policy, but students should still submit their applications by the priority deadlines. For first-year students, application materials include official high school transcripts, standardized test results, a personal statement, and a letter of recommendation.

The university also strongly recommends that students visit the campus and take part in a campus tour when applying. Meanwhile, graduate students will submit the official application and any other materials required by the Graduate College of Business & Economics, the Graduate College of Computer & Information Science, and the Graduate Health Services Administration.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Full-time undergraduate students at Regis University pay $37,830 a year for tuition and fees and will also pay an additional $490 per credit hour for classes taken during the summer. Other fees may include room and board charges, as well as required fees that include a student activity fee, freshman orientation fee, and a health insurance fee. Students may also need to pay a study abroad housing fee and other fees associated with study abroad.

Graduate students will pay a rate dictated by the school in which their degree program is offered. For example, graduate students in the Master of Science in Accounting program will pay $920 per credit and Master of Business Administration students will pay $1,030 per credit hour. The Master of Science in Data Science major is $820 per credit hour, and the Master of Science in Enterprise Systems Engineering is $820 per credit hour.

Financial aid is available at Regis University for students who need assistance paying for college. Tuition assistance may be offered through scholarships, grants, and loans. Students can also consider student employment opportunities on the campus. Regis University features a Four Year Guarantee program that says first-time college students who enroll are guaranteed to graduate in four years and won’t pay any tuition fees for additional required coursework.

Students may qualify for merit or talent scholarships when they attend the university. Some of those competitive scholarships include the Honors Scholarship, Irish Community Scholarship, and the Leadership CORE Scholarship. For talent scholarships, students in athletic programs, music programs, and speech & debate programs may qualify for scholarships. Students at Regis University may also qualify for Federal Pell Grants and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.
