About Post University

Post University is a private, for-profit institution located in Waterbury, Connecticut. The school was established in 1890 and was originally called Matoon Shorthand School. Eventually, the school would transform into Bliss & Harrington’s Business College & School of Shorthand and then experience another change into the Waterbury Business College. The university has around 7,300 students attending a campus of 58 acres in Waterbury, as well as through its online degree portal.

The school’s official colors are orange and purple, and there are 20 varsity teams that play for the university. The school’s teams are nicknamed the Eagles, and they participate in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference of NCAA Division II. In its earliest years, the school offered training in areas like business writing, typing, and bookkeeping. Post University Application Requirements

Requirements for undergraduate students at Post University include submitting a completed admissions application and proof of high school graduation. The university also recommends that students take part in an admissions interview. Examples of proof of graduation include official high school transcripts, copies of a student’s GED, or copies of the student’s Joint Services Transcript or Enlisted Records Brief. Students who have a graduating GPA of less than 2.0 on a 4.0 scale must submit a personal statement for review.

Applicants to graduate programs at Post University must submit their official application and an official transcript with proof of having earned a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Students who have a GPA of less than 3.0 must also submit a letter of recommendation with two recommendations being recommended. Online applicants must meet the same admissions standards as students who apply for on-campus degree programs.

Tuition and Financial Aid

All students pay the same rates for their programs since Post University is a private school and doesn’t charge rates based on whether someone is a resident of Connecticut. Undergraduate programs, for the most part, are billed at $570 per credit hour. Exceptions include the A.S. in Early Childhood Education and the B.S. in Child Studies, which are $505 per credit and the B.S. in Nursing, which is $440 per credit. All certificates at the undergraduate level are $570 per credit hour.

Graduate tuition is charged based on the program a student enters. The Master of Business Administration program is $730 per credit hour. The Master of Science in Accounting and the Master of Science in Project Management are $625 per credit hour. The Master of Education and the Master of Public Administration are $570 per credit hour. Students may also need to pay some additional fees like a technology fee, simulation fee for the B.S. in Nursing program, and an electronic course materials fee.

Students may apply for federal financial aid when they attend Post University, as well as qualify for institutional aid, private aid, and scholarships from various sources. To begin their application for financial aid, students should submit their FAFSA form as early as possible.
