Northcentral University offers degrees to students worldwide who are seeking knowledge in technology, education, psychology and more. The school offers degrees that are 100 percent online using a one-to-one learning model taught by faculty that all hold terminal degrees in their field.

Northcentral University offers degrees in seven different areas. These include Business, Education, Health Sciences, Marriage and Family, Psychology, Social Work and Technology. There is also a Dissertation Pathway.

The School of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration that is available online. The program focuses on how business is always changing and provides a solid foundation that gives students a competitive edge. Students may choose to specialize their studies in Business Leadership, Business Management or Technology and Innovation Management. The program is also available in a FastForward Track which allows students to earn their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in one accelerated program. The program is 120 credits

The School of Education offers a Master of Science in Instructional Design that provides students with an understanding of instructional design theory. They develop tools necessary for planning, analyzing, developing and managing projects. Students learn the fundamentals of instructional design, how to analyze the needs of learners and how to develop learning materials that are engaging. They also explore design principles for multimedia learning while gaining hands-on experience. During the program, students develop a digital portfolio that will showcase their skills.

Through the School of Health, the Master of Health Administration prepares individuals for early and mid-career healthcare leadership roles. Students gain an understanding of essential leadership and management competencies along with interprofessional practice. This allows them to develop the skills necessary to make evidenced-based decisions that could impact the health industry that is increasingly complex. Courses cover topics such as data-driven decision making, health policy development and implementation, leadership skills, and quality management in healthcare settings. In addition, they are provided information on financial management, fiscal decision-making, and technology as those subjects pertain to healthcare.

The Doctorate of Marriage and Family Therapy through the Marriage and Family Therapy Department is a challenging, in-depth program designed to meet the unique personal and professional goals of each student. The program uses a mentoring approach with a class size of one, providing one-on-one, individualized interaction with an all-doctorate faculty. It is currently the only Doctorate of Marriage and Family Therapy that does not have a residency requirement, making it more flexible and accessible than any other degree of its kind. Students may specialize in Child and Adolescent Therapy, General Family Therapy, Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship, Couple Therapy, Mental Health Administration or Therapy with Military Families.

All faculty at the University are doctoral and there are no physical residency requirements like are required at other online schools.

Northcentral University Accreditation Details

Northcentral University has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 2003. Accreditation indicates to parents, students, and employers that the programs offered at the school meet the highest standards as set forth by the Commission. In addition, the school undergoes periodic review to confirm that the programs offered continue to meet or exceed the Commission’s criteria. Any areas found to need improvement are addressed as soon as possible. In addition, programs throughout the University are accredited by:

  • Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs
  • American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Teacher Education Accreditation Council

Northcentral University Application Requirements

Undergraduate students must provide official high school transcripts as well as transcripts from any college or universities attended. Transfer students must have completed at least 60 semester transfer credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0. They may not transfer more than 90 semester credits.

Applicants who wish to attend a master’s degree program at Northcentral University must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. They must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Transfer applicants are accepted but they may not transfer more than six master’s level credits. They must have a 3.0 or higher in all attempted master’s work.

Applicants who wish to earn the Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral degree must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. If the degree is in marriage and family therapy, they enter the 69 credit Ph.D. program. If they have a degree in another clinical discipline, they must have their previous transcripts reviewed to determine if it meets standard curriculum requirements. All applicants must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended as well as a current resume.

Northcentral University Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition at Northcentral University for the Bachelor of Business Administration is $1,383 per course. Tuition for the Master of Science in Instructional Design is $1,836 per course and for the Master of Health Administration is $1,836 per course. Tuition for the Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy is $3,207 per course.

Financial aid is available. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify. Undergraduate students may qualify for grants and scholarships. Northcentral University also accepts employer, military and VA benefits.
