Liberty University offers a wide range of degree programs that are available on campus, online or in a hybrid version that combines both. Students who are interested in business programs may choose to take Accounting, which is available both online and on campus or Business Administration. Under the Business Administration program, it is possible to concentrate studies as well. If an individual enjoys working in the automotive industry, they can concentrate their studies in Automotive Dealership Management, available in both formats. It is also possible to concentrate studies in Communication, Digital Marketing and Advertising, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Planning as well as Healthcare Management, International Business and more. Those who only wish to attend online may choose Leadership as well as Green and Sustainable Management which are not offered in an on-campus format.

About Liberty University

In 1971, Liberty University was founded as the Lynchburg Baptist College by the Reverend Jerry Falwell. The pastor of the Thomas Road Baptist Church at the time, Reverend Falwell wanted to create an institute of higher learning that would influence moral and ethical decisions in order to change the course of the country. In 1976, the name of the school changed to Liberty Baptist College, adopting the colors red, white and blue as a symbol of the school’s mission. In 1984, the school gained university status. After the death of Reverend Falwell in 2007, his son, Jerry Falwell, Jr., succeeded him as president of the university.

Today, there are more than 130,000 students enrolled in online and traditional classes with over 30,000 of them members of the military. The school has been recognized by the Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education. Liberty University has been named the number one best online college in America and is a Gold-Level School of Distinction. It is the top online university in Virginia as well as the top online Christian College in the country.

Liberty University Accreditation Details

Liberty University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Colleges and universities who are accredited meet or exceed standards that the Commission has determined indicate excellence in education. To confirm that Liberty continues to meet those criteria, the school agrees to periodic review and to address any areas that the Commission identifies as needing improvement. Liberty University Admission Requirements

In order to attend Liberty University, applicants must complete an online application and provide official high school transcripts. An admission essay is required along with official ACT or SAT scores. Any applicant who has earned college credit after high school graduation must also provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Undergraduate admissions are competitive. The school uses the applicant’s high school GPA, test scores, an essay as well as other criteria in their admission decision.

Graduate programs each have their own admission criteria. Anyone who wishes to enter a graduate program at Liberty University should contact a graduate admissions counselor to learn more.

Liberty University Tuition and Financial Aid

Full-time undergraduate tuition is $390 per credit hour while part-time tuition is $455 per credit hour. Tuition for the RN to BSN, BSN to MSN or MA/MBA and MSN is $330 for full-time study and $385 for part-time. Graduate business and the Master of Science in Sport Management are $565 per credit hour for full time and $615 for part time. Doctorate programs are $595 per credit hour full time and $650 per credit hour for part time.

In order to qualify for any financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is possible to qualify for resident undergraduate or graduate scholarships as well as online scholarships. In addition, those who apply may also qualify for transfer or mission scholarships. Students may also qualify for grants, including Pell, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity, Federal TEACH, Liberty Supplemental, Liberty Scholars, Virginia Tuition Assistance, Virginia Two-Year College Transfer or Virginia Brown v. Board of Education grants.

Loans may be available to those who qualify. It is important to remember that loans must be repaid after graduation. Those who accept loans are encouraged to speak to a financial counselor before accepting this type of financial assistance.
