With an intensive practice schedule and frequent traveling to participate in games, student athletes can have a hard time figuring out how to afford college tuition. 1. AAHA Lou Manzione Scholarship

Each year, the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) grants two scholarships for $1,000 each in honor of Lou Manzione, President of the New Jersey Youth Hockey League for more than a decade. One scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to a New Jersey high school senior and the second to a high school senior from Pennsylvania or Delaware. 2. Alliance Pipeline Scholarship

The Alliance Pipeline Scholarship is awarded on an annual basis to student athletes who demonstrate strong academic achievement and exceptional extracurricular involvement. 3. American Legion Baseball Scholarship

The American Legion awards more than $22,000 each year in scholarships to selected baseball players from each Department Baseball Committee nationwide. Any team manager or head coach of an American Legion post-affiliated team may nominate an outstanding and deserving player for consideration of this $500 award. With the application, candidates are required to attach three letters of recommendation, which must be from an American Legion coach or team member, American Legion post commander, and a school official or community leader.

4. American Taekwondo Association H.U. Lee Scholarship

Established by the American Taekwondo Association in honor of its founder, Eternal Grand Master H.U. Lee, this scholarship is granted to current high school seniors for amounts ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 each. With the goal of supporting the academic pursuits and athletic dreams of young female golfers, the WSCGA Foundation offers the renewable Anne Trabue Scholarship in honor of the foundation’s founding mother. 6. Appaloosa Youth Foundation Education Scholarship

Each year, the Appaloosa Youth Foundation grants eight scholarships of $1,000 each and one scholarship of $2,000 to high school graduates who are upperclassmen or graduate students. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) grants a $1,000 one-year scholarship to encourage outstanding high school seniors who are currently enrolled on a team or club that is actively participating in rifle or pistol marksmanship competitions. 8. Davis Law Group Scholar Athlete Program

Davis Law Group’s Scholar Athlete Program offers annual scholarships to exceptional student athletes who perform well in the classroom and on the field. 9. Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship

Dixie Youth Baseball offers student athletes the opportunity to apply for 75 annual scholarships to receive $2,000 sent directly to the financial aid department of the college that they are planning or are currently attending. The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) hosts a Scholars Program to provide scholarships ranging from $500 to $6,000 to students who are enrolled in a recognized undergraduate program in a major field related to turf management. 12. Michael Breschi Scholarship

The Michael Breschi Scholarship is granted annually through the U.S. Lacrosse Men’s Coaches Council to two graduating high school seniors who are planning to attend college and are the child of a lacrosse coach of an educational institution. 13. NJCAA Scholarships

For students who are planning on attending a community college and playing on a junior college sports team, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) awards full and partial scholarships to talented athletes at all of its 525 member colleges for a wide range of participating intercollegiate sports. The Shirley A. Wedge National Cheer and Dance Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to deserving junior or senior high school cheer and dance athletes who compete at the COA Ultimate National Championship, which is held every Easter at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida.
