One way companies help our service members is by establishing college scholarships. Members of the military and their loved ones volunteer their time to serve in the armed forces. And these scholarship programs ensure they do not have to also sacrifice their dreams of getting a college education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether you are an active-duty military member, spouse, or service member’s child, there are scholarships for you. In this post, we’ve compiled a list of the most generous scholarships available for all military branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keep in mind these scholarships and grants for active duty military personnel also include assistance for other groups as well. This list is comprised of scholarship opportunities for veterans, retired military members, their spouses, and dependents, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AFECA’s Educational Foundation distributes several annual scholarships. These scholarships are for serving military personnel\/uniformed military servicemen and women. In most cases, honorably discharged military veterans are also eligible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in an accredited degree program. Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and be U.S. citizens. Additionally, you must provide evidence of active duty service member or veteran status. And you can not be in default on any federal student loans. The most recent is the Foundation’s “Six Triple Eight” Scholarship. This is a brand new award in recognition of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. It was an all-black WAC battalion of over 800 women deployed in the second world war. One $2500 scholarship will be awarded each year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for the Army women’s foundation legacy scholarship. Plus, those attending certificate or community college programs are also welcome to apply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The AWS also oversees the Trident University International Scholarship Program. This program is for current or past women soldiers pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree. Six full-ride scholarships are awarded each year for students enrolled in Trident International. They are designated for dependent children or non-uniformed spouses of active-dury Naval officers. These scholarships for military children also include adopted children and step-children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Each $2,000 scholarship is awarded to improve access to educational opportunities. To qualify for the funding, applicants must be graduating high school seniors or graduates. And they must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited academic program. Applicants must also include letters of recommendation.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The CPOSF also awards two MCPON Scholarships annually. These scholarships are in honor of Thomas Crow and Robert J. Walker. They are specifically for spouses and qualified children of members or former members of the Submarine Force. To qualify, applicants must have served in submarine support activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The scholarship amounts are $1,500, $2,100 or $3,500. And recipients can receive up to $14,000 over eight semesters. It is fairly competitive, with only 34 percent of applicants selected. The selection is based on academic proficiency and demonstrated need for financial aid. They are for up to $2,000 each and are funded through the generosity of the Defense Commissary Agency. To qualify, you need to be an unmarried child whose parents are currently serving in or retired from the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eligible applicants must be attending (or plan to attend) a U.S. accredited institution and be under 23 years old. In addition, high school applicants need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Those already in college need a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All applicants for this military children program must possess a U.S. Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card. The fund awards up to $25,000 to dependent children of military service members killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Eligible applicants must be high school seniors or graduates. And they need to be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students. They must also be under 26 at the time they apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Scholarships from the FASF are renewable for up to three years. So students can receive a total of four scholarships while attending college. You must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 to be eligible for renewal. It’s called the Military Spouse FINRA Fellowship Program. And it covers the cost of training to become an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC). In addition, certification fees and a monthly stipend are awarded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The scholarship program is unique because it trains military spouses for a “portable career.” That way, they can improve their family’s financial picture no matter where they are stationed. They are for service members or retired veterans to attend any U.S. accredited undergraduate or graduate school. This includes secondary, technical, or vocational institutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Qualified applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and demonstrate financial need. Additionally, families of service members are eligible. That includes spouses of children of active duty, retired, or deceased Sailors or Marines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applicants can reapply each year by completing a new application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Relief Society also offers an additional scholarship called the Fry Scholarship<\/a>.
